Amanda Mandie, OAM

Heroes Circle Australia

Amanda (Mandy) Mandie has extensive experience in philanthropy. She has also worked as a journalist, event manager, public relations executive and held various roles in marketing and fundraising for over 40 years.

In 2005 Mandy and her son Nick, founded a volunteer driven program called Koala Kids with $3,000 of Nick’s Bar Mitzvah money. Koala Kids Foundation’s mission is to provide small things that make a difference for children and young people during cancer treatment, their families and healthcare team. It’s purpose is to provide the children and their families with happy moments.

Koala Kids became an independent Foundation in 2015, registered with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC) and Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to directly receive tax deductible donations.

The vision of Koala Kids is to touch every child and young person with cancer in Victoria. Koala Kids volunteers, supporters, program partners and hospital staff are all inspired by Mandy’s enthusiasm and passion and like Mandy, they too believe happy helps!

Mandy is a people person who loves connecting like-minded people. She has two children and a wonderful husband who supports her in all her interests, including her love of philanthropy.
